Projects
Projects that I have worked on and that I highly recommend.
I. PromoteGA & Movie Academy
PromoteGA and Movie Academy are project based learning activities that allow students to choose a topic based on their curriculum and build an educational website or movie to teach their peers about the standard. Visit the PROMOTE page to learn more.

- Valdosta Region Promote Entries
For the 2007-08 school year we had 2 teams working on The Civil War and The Cuban Missile Crisis. The 6 teams members from the Cuban Missile Crisis team came in 3rd place in the region competition for Promote. I am very proud of all my students on Promote for the hard work they put into their projects. Checkout the slide show on the media page.In the 2006-07 competition we had 5 teams working on project based learning activities ranging from fossils to World War II.
II. Life ‘Round Here 07 & 09
This was a very fun project that some of Center’s 4th and 5th graders participated. They created multimedia presentations about their life in Waycross. We then posted them to the website and got to see other kids projects from around the world as well.

The Winner from Center Elementary was Trey! A fourth grader in Mrs. Knight’s class. Trey and all the other participants did a great job.
III. Classroombraids 07
Interlacing lives, culture and learning, Classroom Braids is a metaphor for weaving together lives and cultures. This is a collaborative project between our fifth graders and fifth graders from around the world. We are learning about each others states, countries, cultures, and classes among other things!
